  • Dave`s greenhouse.

OK,time to show my brand spanking new greenhouse. Its a 6x8 with toughened glass and sits on a part of my decking. This is my first ever foray into undercover gardening so appreciate any tips (good or bad) to help me along.

There are two things still waiting to do,a louvre window and an auto vent which is yet to be delivered.

    Note the professional wheelbarrow?

    So,whats the verdict?

very nice and love the wheelbarrow, does your wheelbarrower approve of the new growing space? as well as the autovent i have a wire frame for the door so when its really hot i can leave the door open which stopped DD going in when she was little and now keeps the chickens out
The love of gardening is a seed once sown never dies ...

          Thanks guys.

The greenhouse is right beside the back door so extremely handy as its facing the kitchen.
The wheelbarrow does approve of its new arrival Han`s mum.

Looking very sparse though at the moment.Needs some colour doesn't it?

Today i finished the staging and made a deck platform right outside the door for easier access.Louvre window and auto vent arrived also and will be fitting them either tomorrow or monday.
Tomorrow we are off to Gulliver's World with my two girls so may not get around to fitting them.
Bought some small herbs and a couple of strawberry`s,the toms are growing on a pace now so will be sorting them out also this weekend.

I`ll do a few more pics when the whole thing is done.

            Dave.

Peter and John,we can all learn together since we are starting at the same time cant we.Like one big family.

Today i have been to Gulliver's world with the kids and what a beaut of a day its been. When i came back i was so grateful i left the window and door open as it so warm inside the greenhouse.Phew.Weatherman was right for a change.

Yes totally agree on that We spent the day walking in the Langdales in the lake District and came back like a beetroot ... LOL
And yes i was glad i left the window and door open i could feel the heat radiating out just stood at the door
Think i will invest in an Auto Opener for the window and some beads for the door
                    Cheers .... John

First is a pic of my toms in a growbag and a copper `ring` that will hopefully keep the slugs at bay.

And a quick pic of a few pots of various herbs and veg.

                          Hi Dave,

It's going to be hot in your green house from now on.

You might want to consider the best way to sort out some shading soon or you may risk overheating your plants.

The auto vent is a good idea - so is fitting another window in the top if you can, you can never have too much ventilation. Particularly as your door is not in a drafty location.

                          Ann

Sorry for being a bit quiet of late, busy you see.

Anyways,i thought i would do a little update on how things have progressed since i got my greenhouse. As you can see quite a bit.

Still a way to go but i`m pretty chuffed with what has grown to this point.
